FY’07 QME Leadership Development Program
The QME 2007 Leadership Development Program is launched with Spring Courses, Building Highly Effective Teams and Quality Management Principles and Practices
The FY’07 Leadership Program has NEW features aimed at demonstrating employee learning outcomes and training and development ROI. Yes, that is correct, Return On Investment, (ROI) in Adult Learning and Workforce Development!
The strategic vision of adding these new features relate to incorporating a “Blended Learning“ approach and assessment driven tools to measure changes in Knowledge, Skills, and Values that translate into changes in behavior and results in our Radiology Organization. The outcomes intended will provide effective program evaluation that demonstrates Kirkpatrick’s Four levels of Evaluation: Reaction, Learning, Behavior and Results.
The specific programmatic changes include:
- Participants complete pre- assessments and post assessments related to the Leadership topic and learning objectives.
- Upon completion of the “live” course, the participants have the option to complete an online module in our EPRO (E-learning management system) to reinforce the key concepts of the course and its intended learning outcomes. This step of the new “blended learning” approach will demonstrate changes in content knowledge and values and attitudes.
- The benefit of the Online EPRO Module is the increased self confidence of the participant with level of knowledge and the fact that the participants will have training documentation.
- The EPRO- E-Learning Management System includes a tracking system that will provide managers the opportunity to provide recognition to the participant and be included in that employee’s performance management.
The model is based upon the values and beliefs that the Radiology Department is committed to the notion that leadership skill development and employee empowerment is integral to our employee stakeholders as well as to the quality of our patient care operational excellence.
Leadership courses are custom designed and retro-fitted to each target audience. The program is marketed and promoted to all Radiology employees who have the option to self-identify the interest in professional development or whose managers may identify them as emerging leaders.
There were 3 target audiences:
- Operations Managers, Technical Managers and Supervisors
- Technologists, Nurses, and Professional Staff
- Clinical Support and Administrative Support
COURSE DESIGN AND DELIVERY FORMAT
Course content delivery varies due to the specific scheduling demands of divisions or targeted audiences. Each course format is designed in ”building block” or module formats so that materials can be segmented and customized. Each course will be customized in concert with prospective participants serving in a steering /advising capacity. Each course will have measurable learning objectives stated, adhere to adult learning theory and apply various learning style approaches in content deliverables. Self-assessment tools, outcomes assessment and quality produced reference materials are incorporated into each course design when appropriate.
