- RADIOLOGY 2K10 - VEHICLES OF CHANGE
In October 2005, the Department of Radiology launched its strategic plan focused on the tools and structures that would help guide the department through the next five years. The plan involves a multi-phase initiative that aims to revise the set of performance indicators used to measure the department’s performance against its strategic objectives.
Phase I will involve defining the complete set of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department that are aligned with the department’s guiding management principles:
- Patient safety and quality of care
- Operations management
- Stakeholder management
- Financial management
Phase II will involve incorporating the KPIs defined in Phase I into an electronic dashboard of measures that will provide the department with a mechanism to monitor the department’s performance against its strategic objectives.
Phase III will focus on the implementation of the KPIs and the dashboard.
Phase IV will aim to refine the operating parameters of the KPIs and how they are utilized by the department.
The execution of the plan is expected to last for approximately three years and will ensure the department is well positioned to enhance its leadership in radiology.
