RADIOLOGY CONSULTING GROUP (RCG) AND PARTNERS RADIOLOGY SUPPORT

The Radiology Consulting Group (RCG) is an external consulting service born out of the Department of Radiology that consults both nationally and internationally. Service lines include Radiology Information Technology, Operations Management and Practice Management.

Members of QME have played an integral part of RCG over the past several years.  As Director of QME, Benjamin Asfaw will continue to work closely with the Director of the RCG, Nikki Pliner in developing a resource model and resources for the RCG.

QME will continue its active supporting role in the Partners Radiology organization.  Current initiatives include Quality Management and Patient Safety Committee support and Partners Benchmarking.  Both of these projects are value added initiatives that will benefit Radiology departments Partners wide.

Customer Service Council

Objective: Maintain standards throughout the department that complement the Radiology Customer Service Council’s guiding principles, F.O.C.U.S. (Family Centered, Ownership, Communication, Understanding, and Sustain).

Chairs: Sharon Gibson, June Cowen

Mission: Develop, implement, and sustain customer/patient- focused programs that follow the F.O.C.U.S. guiding principles that are consistent with the mission of the Department of Radiology and the MGH.


Innovation Council

Objective: Provide a forum to nurture, develop, and support new & innovative ideas across MGH Radiology.

Chairs: Gordon Harris, Thomas Brady, MD

Mission: Gather, generate, develop and implement innovative ideas that will enhance service, quality, safety, technology, practice management and revenue and turn them into preeminent intellectual capital.  The Council will facilitate the design and development of approved concepts, including business planning, financial support, marketing, program execution and measure of success.


Quality and Patient Safety Committee

Objectives:
  • Identify and benchmark department wide problem areas
  • Develop process improvements leading to drafts of new policies
  • Educate and disseminate new and ongoing process initiatives
  • Monitor and report back results
Chairs: Maureen Seluta, Janice Wright

Mission: To achieve excellence as a leader in employee and patient safety, while maintaining the highest quality of patient care.  We will embrace the guidelines of the IOM and maintain a proactive approach to prevention and education.



Utilization and Outcomes Council


Objectives:
  • Improve cost-effectiveness and enhance quality of care via operational management, business, and clinical initiatives throughout Radiology
  • Incorporate Decision Support as a tool to reduce the number of unnecessary or inappropriate exams ordered via Radiology Order Entry

Chairs: Jae Lee

Mission: To facilitate improved outcomes in patient care and customer service through managing utilization trends across all areas of Radiology.
