ABOUT QME

Quality Management & Education (QME) is the internal consulting team for the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.  QME is responsible for supporting Radiology operations and maintaining the department’s commitment to the provision of educational opportunities for frontline staff and operations managers.





MISSION STATEMENT   

  • To Lead: Create and support a collaborative approach for decision making through training, education, process improvement and information technology

  • To Partner:

    • Internal focus: Develop a network of relationships within each Radiology operational area to enable and facilitate continuous improvement

    • External focus: Seek new opportunities to collaborate with departments both within and outside of Massachusetts General Hospital

  • To Innovate: Promote alternative thinking for creative solutions, which will increase service, enhance revenues, decrease costs and improve the overall delivery of patient care

  • Resolves external issues affecting progress
  • Approves scope, timeline, and budget

Director:

  • Sets strategic direction for department
  • Establishes program management infrastructure
  • Establishes approach and timeline for project delivery
  • Measures and monitors progress to ensure projects are delivered on-time and meets or exceeds expectations
  • Defines resource requirements and allocate resources across releases so that they are utilized effectively

Project Specialist:

  • Measures and monitors progress to ensure project is delivered on-time, within budget and meets or exceeds expectations
  • Determines the approach and timeline of project
  • Defines roles and expectations of team members and ensures timely feedback
  • Ensures resources are utilized effectively
  • Guarantees proper documentation collected for decision making
